Bangkok, Thailand, 21 December 2023 Thaicom Public Company Limited (SET: THCOM), a leading Asian satellite and space technology company, today announced the official launch of the Thaicom and Globalstar Satellite Gateway at Thaicom Satellite Station, Ladlumkaew district, Pathum Thani, in collaboration with Globalstar, Inc. (NYSE American: GSAT), a leading provider of mobile satellite services and a global LEO satellite operator. The new gateway will extend Globalstars Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation coverage to Thailand and the region and enable the deployment of commercial LEO satellite services.
Thaicom is an exclusive authorized distributor of Globalstars LEO satellite constellation in Thailand to operate the LEO satellite gateway to expand Globalstar satellite constellation coverage and enable the deployment of commercial LEO satellite services in Thailand and region, with a focus on personnel safety and management solutions for Thailands Tourism and Maritime industry as well as developing and initiating other advanced solutions to meet the needs of various industries. The opening of Thaicom and Globalstar Satellite Gateway marks a major milestone for Thaicom and Globalstar and demonstrates an important commitment to continuously improving and developing innovative solutions and services linked with LEO satellites that will accommodate the growing needs of customers in Thailand and the region.
