Krabi 27 December 2025 Engineers and staff from Thaicom Public Company Limited, together with rangers from the Hat Noppharat TharaMu Ko Phi Phi National Park, conducted onsite operations to install and test the Globalstar Emergency SOS satellite-based emergency communication system along the Khao Ngon Nak nature trail, one of Krabis most iconic tourist attractions.
The purpose of this field operation was to evaluate the devices performance in real environmental conditions, particularly in communication blind spotsareas with no terrestrial mobile network coverage, which often pose critical challenges for reporting emergencies involving tourists or park personnel.
The installed Globalstar Emergency SOS system acts as a vital communication channel during critical situations. It can immediately transmit coordinates and distress signals via satellite directly to an emergency response center. This enhances safety and provides peace of mind for visitors hiking the trail, while also serving as a crucial support tool for park rangers, enabling them to manage incidents and respond to emergencies promptly and effectively. The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen safety measures in natural tourism sites.
