Thaicom Partners with Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park to Pilot ‘Globalstar Emergency SOS’ Satellite Innovation — Enhancing Tourist Safety at the Khao Ngon Nak Nature Trail

Krabi 28 December 2025 Thaicom Public Company Limited continues its mission to elevate safety standards in natural tourist destinations by partnering with Hat Noppharat TharaMu Ko Phi Phi National Park to finalize and review the successful installation and testing of the Globalstar Emergency SOS satellite emergency communication system. The collaboration aims to enhance safety for tourists and park rangers in areas with limited or no mobile network coverage.
Mr. Nutthaphon Danthanin, Product Director of Thaicom Public Company Limited, met with Mr. Siriwat Saengchee, Chief of Hat Noppharat TharaMu Ko Phi Phi National Park, to review the projects progress and outcomes for the installation and testing of the Globalstar Emergency SOS service. The system was deployed along the Khao Ngon Nak nature trail within the national park in Krabi Province.
The purpose of the meeting was to assess system performance and outline implementation guidelines for the satellite-based emergency communication device, used for sending SOS alertsan essential technology for closing communication gaps in areas where terrestrial mobile networks are unavailable. This is particularly critical along challenging hiking routes and remote natural attractions.
This collaboration supports the shared mission of promoting tourism and enhancing effective park management operations. The initiative focuses on ensuring the highest level of tourist safety while strengthening the proactive operational capabilities of park rangers, enabling faster and more accurate responses to emergencies and natural hazards in accordance with international standards.
